Now More Than Ever!? Reframing Diversity in the Workplace
At this year’s LABOR.A 2025 hosted by the Hans Böckler Foundation in Berlin, my colleague Lisa Ertl and I contributed our session “Now More Than Ever!? Or: What’s Next for Diversity in the Workplace?”. Together with participants, we explored how organisations can navigate diversity and equity in times of increasing social polarisation – and what it means to understand diversity not merely as a goal, but as an integral part of organisational development. Ultimately, it’s not about “fixing” individuals, but about shaping organisations in ways that make differences visible, meaningful, and fair. Reframing plays a crucial role here: for us, it means talking about collaboration, conflict competence, and fairness – and, in doing so, redefining what future-readiness really means.
